Communicate Effectively with Mentions

Every busy person has at least 1,000 things they’re thinking about on a given basis. At least.

The Salesmanna team has created a new way to communicate important messages amongst your team, and to identify important tasks or assignments related to specific accounts.  Mentions are the ability to communicate tasks through Conversations. It’s an open field where you can write notes about anything that involves the account, pending sales, or communication. But you can also use this field to link team members and tasks together.

To begin, click on a contact or an opportunity, and the first tab you’ll see is Conversations. Type your team member’s username with the “@” symbol in front. (Usually, an account user name is the first part of an email address before the domain name, such as “@info” would be the username for our info@Salesmanna.com account.) After you enter the username, type the action you’d like them to complete, such as “@JohnSmith Please call Craig on Thursday and make him this offer…” or “@JaneSmith Drop by and meet Sue at her store next week.” When you press Enter, you’ll automatically create a notation in the comments that the person tagged can see. Salesmanna will also generate an email that will be sent to your tagged team member with your comments. That team member can review it and respond in Conversations to you, or act upon it. And, there’s a record of your interaction.

In addition to Mentions, Salesmanna has several tools to help you manage your tasks wisely and prioritize effectively. In our Personal Information Management system (PIM), you can add To-Do’s for important tasks, while connecting with your calendar and email to see relevant communication and scheduling. There’s also Salesmanna Connect which tracks mobile activity and client engagement, and Reminders to make sure you’re staying on top of your most important tasks.

There’s lots of ways to be engaged in the sales process. Salesmanna is here to make sure you have all the tools to create the best return on your time and accomplish the things that are most important in your sales efforts.

New Mobile Features: Mileage Tracker and Expenses

The Salesmanna team knows that busy sellers want ways to save time when it comes to routine tasks. (Who wants more paperwork when you could be out selling something?)

The newest features in Salesmanna Mobile are likely to excite both managers and sellers alike: Mileage Tracking and Expenses.

Mileage Tracker works like a custom GPS just for your sales calls. When you open the app, click on the “More” tab at the bottom and you’ll see Mileage Tracker in your icons. When you select this feature, you’ll see a screen that allows you to start tracking your mileage. When you are ready to drive to your destination, press “Start Tracking” and the distance will be logged as you travel. This feature will run as long as the app is open. Underneath, you’ll see a field labelled “Description” where you can include additional information about your call or destination. When you press “Stop Tracking,” the distance is saved in Salesmanna as a mileage expense under your account.

If you need to manually add mileage, you can also do so from the app or from the desktop version. And, if you have reps that need mileage reimbursed, there’s an easy way to submit that.

Expenses are also under the “More” tab. When you first use this feature, you’ll likely see a mostly blank screen. To add expenses, press the “+” icon, and you’ll be able to input a new expense instantly. You can include the amount, expense date, and a description. You can also add an Expense Type or attach a picture if needed. Fill out as much as is required for your expense history, and you’re ready to submit it.

Once submitted, expenses can be managed within the desktop version of Salesmanna. Under the Account Settings tab, click on “Expense Reports”. Then, click on “My Expenses” to see, review, edit, and submit your expenses to your supervisor. You can also review mileage and export any expenses that you’d like to save as a report.

With Salesmanna’s Mileage Tracker and Expenses, you’ll save time, resources, and cut down on paperwork, so you can put your time into what matters most… sales!

Salesmanna is the Time-Saving CRM

Let’s say you’re reading this, and you’re considering what CRM to choose for your business or company. You’re probably wondering “How much time will it take to get started with Salesmanna?”

The simple answer is… not that much, and FAR less than most competitive software. Salesmanna is intuitive. Any person who has previously worked with a CRM will understand it. If you have a seller that is new to it, they can learn the basics and be ready to roll.

Compare Salesmanna’s set up process to other CRM software. Some aren’t as intuitive, and your administrator has to be trained through a series of long videos. It’s recommended that they receive certifications. They must understand versions of platforms, mobile apps, etc. Your employees have better things to do than spend days in training, right? And, how large is that training investment? If you lose that employee, you must retrain the next one. All of this leads to loss of time and efficiency.

That’s not what Salesmanna is about. We’re about connecting and making sure that your sellers have access to all the things they need in the field. Here are a few things that we offer to make getting started much easier with us:

  • Connect your account and email address. This helps the Calendar and Inbox features to interface with Salesmanna for updates. (It’s as simple as going to your Account Settings and connecting!)
  • Got current contacts? Use a CSV (comma separated values) file to import them. It’s just an excel file that’s converted to a special format that allows our software to add them in. Use the Import Contacts feature and add them in.
  • Download the mobile app, now available for Android or iPhone. If needed, use the business card scanner in the mobile app to scan business cards into your contacts.

That’s it. From here, you’re ready to begin… There are no weeks where you’re offline. There are no confusing questions and major delays. Even if this still sounds daunting, our team is here to take the lead. We also offer data migration services.

If you’re still thinking this might be tough, then I promise you are overthinking it. It’s an experience that sets you up for success and easier account management. If you’re still worried, send us an email and we’ll answer all questions. The bottom line is that we’ll change your mind about ease of implementation, and you’ll wish you’d done this sooner.

Celebrating Independence

It’s that time of year where we celebrate our patriotism and, if you’re lucky, enjoy a little time off. The 4th of July is about celebrating our independence and all that we’ve accomplished as a nation.

We know how many sellers LOVE independence. (The word micro-managed makes some sellers cringe!) But with independence comes responsibility, and that responsibility involves reaching goals, exercising strategies, and implementing necessary steps to see through customer agreements.

One of the reasons that Salesmanna works is that you as a seller have access to the same tools for success that a sales manager has at their fingertips. For example, I can run my own activity report and show the amount of work I generate in a given month, day, or week. I can measure that week against other weeks to show progress. I can also be honest with myself, and say ‘Have I held onto this too long?’ There are times where we all hope a deal will happen and it doesn’t. Sometimes it is best to cut losses and move on to the next thing. How far am I from reaching my goals, and what can I realistically accomplish in each increment? Just as much as I want to demonstrate effort, I ultimately want to produce results.

Using a CRM creates independence. Yes, they do give sales managers an inside viewpoint into the day to day activity a seller creates, but they also allow you the freedom to manage your results and help you chart a realistic action plan. I can’t imagine anything better than having the independence to create my own success.

Create and Manage Your Growth Strategy with Salesmanna

What makes us business savvy? Is it a go-getter attitude? A challenging client obstacle that you’ve helped to overcome? The moment where you look back at how far you’ve come and realize it’s a longer way then you imagined?

The real truth behind sales success is that there’s no lack of effort. As much as I wish it existed, there is no “Easy” button.  You have to put elbow grease into attaining the best clients, and you can’t win without trying.

When working with Salesmanna and remembering what value I want to receive from my software, I look at what I’m putting into it and what I need to hit my numbers. Here are some of the ways that I use my software to grow business:

Focusing on prospects. Am I spending enough time working on new leads? Even when business is busy, the best way to keep business going is to nurture it consistently. Down time is the enemy!

Asking for referrals. How many times have you asked existing customers if they’ll be a referral for you? Or if they’ll help connect you to a mutual prospect? It’s probably one of the best ways to meet new customers.

Warming up cold calls. Grab the bull by the horns. Your prospect most likely wasn’t waiting all day for your call. Give them a good reason to speak to you. The referral will open a door just enough to stand out from other calls.

Telling a success story. Use your email marketing automation tool to build a success story. Who isn’t a little interested in how to be more successful?

Building a web form. This process enables you to capture better, more qualified leads. How much stronger is your lead when you already know a little about them? A LOT.

Track your networking. I meet a lot of great contacts at events. Salesmanna’s app is fantastic for photographing business cards and logging contacts instantly.

Customer Retention. What was your last interaction with your customer? You won’t lose track when you look at your activity. Everything you do – text, calls, and emails – are connected to your cell phone. When you create communication, you’ll receive the positive feedback that you need from your customers.

CRM’s are extremely valuable, but it’s all about what effort you put in. They help you manage and retain customers and focus your business development efforts. The value of a CRM is that one good client usually pays for the entire system. If you want your best ROI, working with a CRM like Salesmanna will be the difference between wanting success and creating it.
